About the artist...

Sam's love affair with a camera has been a gradual evolution starting with his father's gift of a Kodak twin lens reflex at age 12.

From there it has progressed through documentation of family activities and backpacking trips through creating slide shows for the Sierra Club and many other organizations. His current interest in photography as fine art first took root when he joined a camera group some thirty years ago and had access to developing equipment and equipment to produce Cibachrome prints (now Ilfachrome).

Sam says, "When I look at the world, I see pictures and I like to share them." He likes to look through his lens at the little things as well as the vast panoramas.

Sam's latest ventures are into digital photography and using the "digital darkroom" on his computer so that he has control over the entire process from envisioning the picture to the final print.
